Just one quick question,can someone tell me what the measurments are for the side mirrors on a '66. Thanks in advance

I can measure my drivers side. No problem. Passenger side was an add on. Are you using the repro mirrors? When we drilled mine (repro) we mounted the passenger one slightly differently to clear vent window. I can give you the factory mount holes for drivers side. Most good repros will mount to those locations. Or I could make a template for both and fax to you. Karl

Yes I'm using factory repros,the guy who did the body and paint already mounted them,but I find them to far back,I guess its too late anyways but I was just curious as to where they should be sitting,even just a measurment to the frount of the chrome mirror bracket would be fine.

Will measure from front mounting hole on bracket on each side. Will reply tonight.

Drivers side front bracket mounting hole is 13 1/16 in. from leading edge of door. It is 1 5/8 in. down from edge of style line @ window. This is the factory location.
Passenger side (right) is 13 5/8 in. from leading edge of door. Distance from style line is the same- 1 5/8 in. There was no factory hole for r/side as they did not come with a mirror. We located r/side further back to improve line of sight and to clear vent glass.
Mine is a 66 Elky, but am sure these dimensions will cross to other 66 models.

You did not mention which model you have. The 2dr coupe and conv. have different locations than the sedan models. My driver side mirror is off and the front mounting hole is 13.75" back from edge of door.(2dr ht coupe)
