I am ready to apply my final coat of primer, then i bland to wet sand with 400 before final paint. What do I prep it with after I sand it. I am using PPG and would like someone to look at what I have to make sure every thing goes together and is something a beginner can do. here it is.

primer- 1 part DZ3
1 1/2 part DTL876 thinner

Deltron base coat-1 part DB4 2084 hugger orange
1 1/2 - 2 parts DRR1170 reducer

Concept clear - 4 parts DCU 2021
1 part DT 860 reducer
1 part DCX 61 hardener

If any of these mixes dont look right please let me know. How many coats of base and clear will it need? How long should I wait after bc before applying the clear. I got a gallon each of the primer, paint, clear, and all reducers. will this be enough? Finally, I have a coat of primer already on, is the DZ3 the right thing to finish up with. sorry for the long post but any help will be appreciated.

You need to prep it (the pannel) with PPG's DX330 wax and grease remover. Just before you shoot any paint be it primmer base or clear. You wipe it on with one cotton lint free CLEAN towl and wipe it off with another FAST before it drys! I also got some specs of dust in my clear on my test pannel so I may use a tack cloth just before I clear(lightly don't press it at all just drag it). This is the way I understand it if I am wrong somebody chim in here. ;)

MO, you should have received some tech bulletins that describe how to prep and apply each of the products you bought. These bulletins will clearly spell out your mix ratios, acceptable surfaces to apply them them to, appropriate coatings that may be applied over it, as well as number of coats and dry time required between coats. Find your products on the list at the link below and print them out. They will help big time.http://www.ppg.com/cr-refinish/phase1/frmFindProduct.asp
