Won’t start without High Torque Starter!
Just rebuilt my 70 454 LS5 motor to stock specs, bored 30 over, 10:25:1 compression and used 268 extreme energy cam (everything else is stock). The stock starter will start the motor just fine when cold but after I drive the car and the motor gets hot, the stock starter will not restart the car unless it cools down. I could have heat soak and I have adjusted the timing several times, changed the battery, battery cables and put a new stock starter on the car with exactly the same result. I installed a “racing high torque starter” and it cranks just fine when hot. HOWEVER, now my car sounds like a Chrysler with that whining starter sound. Any suggestions, anything I should try, regarding changes, a different stock starter or different sounding high torque starter?
Thanks
