mjk14 May 27th, 06, 3:13 PM I am installing a new gas tank on my 1970 ss chevelle. The problem is that when I wrap the new straps around the gas tank, I can't get the bolts to start because the holes are not lined up. It seems like the gas tank is a little to wide. I guess I could bend the lip up on the gas tank to get the holes to line up. Any sugestions anyone? ACES-70 May 27th, 06, 4:04 PM Heres the easiest way I have found over the years,, go to the hardware store and get a set of 5 inch bolts threaded all the way,,, use those to get the straps drawn up, then you will be able to use the correct ones, one at a time. this works everytime, matter a fact I have used the same set of starter bolts 3 or 4 times :) mjk14 May 28th, 06, 5:30 PM Thank You, It worked like a charm!!!!
