Need a little direction from you experienced restorers. Puchased these large washers to repair rusted out body bushing holes on the frame of my 64 Chevelle. Seemed easier than fabricating my own. My question is should I place these on top - slightly on top - of the damaged area where I can weld them in place or should I place them on ther underside of the damaged area ? I sort of figured as long as I did the same everywhere it would be ok and this includes putting them where the body bushing hole is not damaged as well. I have an original assembly manual that gives direction on proper location of the holes. Would it be best to locate them loosly and then set the body back on the frame and tack them once everything lines up again ? Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Don't weld them on top or bottom of the frame. Center the washer over the old rotted out area, mark the outline of the washer onto the frame, then grind the old rusted frame hole out to the size of the washer. Now you can set the washer down into the ground out hole and weld it and grind it smooth.
Doing it this way assures you of not having any body mounting problems later.
Make sure the washers you buy are thick as the old frame at least, and that the inner hole size is the same as the original frame hole.
