: Opinions wanted please!
gnunzio May 26th, 06, 9:07 PM Hello all , here is my question I have a 1972 Chevelle SS. On my OE wheels I have the Goodyear bias ply tires for shows. They look great but drive like, well you know poorly. The 71/72 wheel is not reproduced, and have purchased a few sets off Ebay that I would not run on my car. So which wheels would you all recommend keeping in mind I do not like after market wheels the 69/70 SS wheel in a 15 in. or the old Corvette/ Camaro rally so I can run a set of radials for cruising? All opinions are appreciated!
Gary.

DaleM May 27th, 06, 2:37 PM Rally wheels.
704EVER May 27th, 06, 4:44 PM If your car is mostly stock, I think a nice set of Rallys would look good. There are 2 sets of Rallys on e-bay right now, one ends tonight and a complete set ends Monday night
gnunzio May 28th, 06, 7:00 AM Know that's what i'm talking about, any others? When you guys say rally you mean the corvette style correct?
Thanks for the input!
Gary.

I personally, like the original 1971-72 SS wheels, on that body style...........Don
704EVER May 28th, 06, 9:46 AM No,I didn't mean the Corvette style,I meant the 69-70 14/7 SS Rally wheels.I think they look great on the 71-72's as well.
gnunzio May 28th, 06, 3:33 PM thanks guys your input is appreciated, wish I could find a non pitted rusted or lug holes oval set of my OE wheels. So a new set of 69/71 15 in set is close as I can get. Any others???
Gary.
Slick71ss May 28th, 06, 5:09 PM You know if you get those 69/70 wheels you're going to get a bunch of "know it all's" come up to you and point out they are the wrong year. Those people get on my nerves!
Anyways, I like that billet version of them. A little flashier than the original painted version. Now I'm considering them for my car. I think they'll look real good on a black car.
chevguy65 May 28th, 06, 6:03 PM Nothin says style like a good set of Cragar S/S Rims
If my 65 didn't look as good as it does with the corvette rally's I would have Cragars on it for sure.
gnunzio May 28th, 06, 7:24 PM 71 SS what are you running on your ride now?
dirtrocker May 28th, 06, 9:42 PM Its all a matter of your price range and taste. I like the ss/z28 style rims with 255/50/15 bf's on the back and 235/60/15 on the front (lowered of course).
On the bigger side, big fan of the KMC HotWheels 68 rims cuz of price and just the whole idea of hotwheels rims LOL
This is somebodys car off here:
gnunzio May 29th, 06, 7:46 AM Thanks guys all of your opinions are greatly appreciated! I'll take others if any?

74bowtie May 29th, 06, 8:39 AM How about a set of plain steel wheels with a set of dog dish caps on them?
ak 67SD May 29th, 06, 9:53 AM i am putting a set of steels and dog dishes on mine for a different look.... how about a set of american racing wheels, the vintage 5 spoke look... not stock but a nice upgrade that a lot of people did with the cars at that time...

Slick71ss May 29th, 06, 9:59 AM 71 SS what are you running on your ride now?
OLD school Crager SS/T rims. I really like them cuz they give the black car some shiny contrast and they're different from what everyone else runs. The problem is they are old and have some rust pits. They don't make them anymore so I haven't been able to find any replacements. I've found some 8", but not 10". I haven't been able to make up my mind on another type wheel replacement.
