I am in the process of prepping my roof for re-painting.I"ve stripped all old paint off down to metal.Treated all rust pits with oxysolv rust dissolver, then filled pits with Metal to Metal filler and and sanded again with the d/a and took all the filler off except what filled the pits. Before I shoot the etch primer, I wanted to take off the upper door weatherstrip and the stainless channel the weatherstrip presses into. There is a strip of black double sided sticky caulk(?)about 5/8" wide and 1/16" thick under the channel.I tore it up some trying to get it off after I removed the retaining screws.Does anyone carry this sealer? What would be a suitable substitute to use if and when I re-install the channel? Thanks in advance. Don

Don. The stainless retainer is screwed against the channel. I could not find the tape and used 3M 08509. This is a non hardening caulking meant to seal windows. It allows you to adjust the retainer when needed.
