For those of you who have their project running but not ready for the street, how often do you run the engine to keep it in good running order. Also how do you handle battery charging issues? Do people use a stabilizer in their gas tank?

I have several cars that I do not drive much in the winter. During this time I use a small battery float charger I bought thru Harbor Freight tools (< $10)that seems to work just fine. I never have a low battery condition.

I do try to start them at least once every two months and let the engine get up to normal operating temperature. I do not use any gas additives, but I do add fresh gas each fall and spring.

Steve, I wouls always use a gas stabilizer if I,m not going to run the car in a 30 day period, you can get a small trickle charger from Harbor Freight for about $15 that will keep a charge for months. I use them on my motorcycles in the winter (fair weather biker only). If you are not going to run the engine very often you might invest in one of the gadjets thes spins your oil pump by removing the distributer and running the oil pump with a drill motor
