When I purchased my 70 chevelle, the previous owner had already torn out all the wiring. He purchased a new wiring harness for the car. He was going to put in a small block I am going to put in a big block.

Is there any difference in the two types of harnesses? If there is, it will be for sale in the classifieds soon.

The BB has a special engine harness, I think the only difference is the length/location of the oil pressure switch wire. If you are going with the TH400 trans, you need a BB w/auto harness for the kick down wiring. The forward lamp harness is the same for SB or BB.

the wiring harness is also different if you have gauges and or idiot lights, different senders for both.

I paid 2k for the whole car. It came with a lot of extra parts and is a rust free body. I have a new engine compartment harness, rear harness and under dash harness that came with the car. I am just going through all my parts and trying to figure out what I should keep and what I should get rid of.
