I just purchased a 7 piece trunk pan kit (3 sections of sheet metal and 4 braces) for my 70 Chevelle. Any words of wisdom or articles available that will walk me through the replacement. I want to be sure I do this right!
I am doing a frame-off restoration and am preparing to pull the body off the frame in the next few weeks.
Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated by both me and my '70

Thanks,
Dan Solomon

I am curious if there is an advantage to multiple trunk pan pieces over buying it in one piece? (Sorry that just added more questions instead of answers now didn't it).

It was difficult making the decision. They had a one piece trunk pan but from the description it was smaller than the trunk and I wanted to replace it all not just the center. They also had a 2 piece kit but I couldn't tell if it had the flanges where the pan meets the inside of the quarter. This set I bought was shipped UPS, has all of the braces and all for 1 extra weld seam that I should be able to grind out.

Thanks...The kit includes the trunk floor under the package shelf too then?

No. It makes the bend at the top but only extends in about 2". If you need to replace that as well, you should be able to find someone to fabricate it as well.
