I am building a 68 malibu and was wondering if there is any electric fan better than the other to look for at the bone yard. It is a daily driver car with a/c if that makes a difference. Is there a particular one that fits better than another? Thanks.

I hear a fan from a ford windstar will do the trick for you. Lots of threads covered it all. Do a search on them and you'll have all the tricks needed to make it work.

Fan from a 98 Lincoln Mark VIII does 4500 cfm.

Ford taurus is also a popular fan to look at... Good info on this site with those and there a lot smaller then the other two

Beware: The flex-a-lite fan people do not recommend a electric fan when you have a 4 row radiator. Don't ask me why! Probably too much constriction.

I have a dual flex-a-lite. But I have an aluminum Griffin large 2 row radiator.

Hmmmmm? I have never heard of this before? I have ran electric fans on all kinds of radiators for years...and there are even OEMs that do it? I toooooo can't think of a reason why...so I am going to say if a tech (or person) from this company said this...he needs a physics class.

Electric fans move more CFMs at idle than any mechanical set up...and doesn't have anything to do with anything as far as radiators per se. Constriction is NOT an issue as well. There is only a 10% reduction in airflow of a four row radiator vs a two row....and really has more to do with how many fins/in than rows.

I just don't get it at all....and I will confidently say that's BS as far as cooling goes.

It's because FAL doesn't sell a fan capable of cooling it. They don't want you buying their competitor's electric fan. :)
