My quarters are real rusty, I dont have the money to buy full replacement quarters. Does anyone know where in canada the best place to buy Quarter Panel Patches is?? Or should i get a bodyman to Make them for me. I also need a pass side fender patch. Anyone know how much this would cost in canadian funds??? I am purchasing a MIG welder soon even though i might have to resort to an arch welder. Im 15 and my welding skills are limited.

72,
If your quarters are rusty above the wheel openings, the patching can get very expensive. If the rust is along the bottom the patches may work. I've found that many times the visible rust is only half of the rust. You have to extend far enough to get good metal to work with. If patching large areas, the handwork (labor) costs will be greater than the savings on the full quarter. Once the patching is complete you still have to paint the repair area.
My best advise is to replace the entire quarter, outer wheelhouse and possibly the trunk extension panel, if the rust is on top of the wheel opening. Full quarters require less handwork. Patches have to be smoothed to the body panels.
