I was looking in summit for a shifter tho I don't always buy from them. . I kinda liked the Pro Ratchet,,how smooth is it. For a 2900lbs 65 Malibu with TH350. Mostly drag but some street.

I use this B&M one in my bracket Vega, and it has the neutral safety switch so if you run the strip your covered. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=BMM%2D80681&N=400004+4294822068+4294903949+115&autoview=sku

I had a B&M Star Shifter on my Elky (mounted it in the console). It looked great and worked great.

I have had bad results with positive shifts with ratchet type shifters. I am using a Pro Stick now and love it.

I use the B&M Z-gate shifter. It's very simple, cheap, and gets the job done.

I like the B & M Quick Silver as my favorite shifter! :D
I second that. I liked the Hurst Quarter stick with a powerglide, didn't like it with a 3 speed. I had a used Star shifter, didn't care for it. My buddy has a Mega shifter, hate it. The Quick Silver is nice all the way around. B&M sells a neutral safty switch for it for $13

Do you HAVE to have a ratchet? I used A B&M prostick (same as hurst quarterstick) for years without an issue. Now I used a Hurst competition plus but that won't work for you.;)

B&M Megashifter, been in my car since '99, its shifted a th350,a th400, back to a th350,a th400 and now its shifting a th400 with a reverse manual valve body. Works great, couldnt ask for it to do any more. I like the B&M Starshifter too, but not sure if it works with a rev.manual valve body.

b&m pro ratchet works awesome and looks very clean as well.

Megashifter, looks great, works well as both a regular shifter and a full ratchet mode. Had one since '92.

The reverse and neutral safety switches are a little fragile, electrically speaking. I run a 1uF capacitor across the terminals to protect them.

I have the B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter in my 70 'Velle and have no complaints about it.

If this is the shifter that you want, you will not be disappointed.

I like the B&M Z gate.....inexpensive and reliable. Had one in my S-10.

I'm pretty happy with my Hurst V-Matic, and it wasn't very expensive. Used it at the track several times with no problems.

I use the B&M Z-gate shifter. It's very simple, cheap, and gets the job done.

I'll second John's choice especially in a fairly fast car. Easy to quickly clear to neutral after a burnout, solid feeling, efficient, and cheap. Easy to tell what gear you're in. No bull***** and monkey motions.......just non-dramatic shifting.

I have a Quarter Stick in my Vega (powerglide) and a Quarter Stick in my Camaro (T-400). They both work ok but I still like the ol' cheapie Z-Gate the best.

Another vote for the Quicksilver. I love it. Mine is the short stick version though.
