I'm putting new ball joints in and the seals have a notch in them. Which direction do I face the notch? Thanks!

The "notch" on the ball joint boot provides a release for excess grease and other liquids that may get into the joint. This notch faces toward the center of the vehicle when the arm is installed so it can be view while greasing the ball joint.

Also when you place the notch to the inboard side all that stuff comes out away from the rotor.
