My 95 Monte Carlo Z-34 was just diagnosed and is in need of both power steering lines. The chevy garage wants $500-$600 to replace them. The car needs rear struts also. another $500-$600 . Are these jobs really that time consuming/difficult on these cars? Looks like my parts list is about $200.

The car has about 114k miles on it, I've owned it since it was new without any major issues. And I really like the car.

If you are a GM tech or could tackle this, how much would charge?

The P/S lines are not that difficult. Its the lower fittings on the rack that are difficult to get at. The rear struts can be handled yourself by pulling them out and having a shop swap the struts themselves. They have the compressor to do this and its not worth attempting it yourself anyways without it. Thats about the only thing you cant really do at home.
