I bought a QA1 front coil over conversion kit GMP12 BB last December, for my 71 SS 454. Time permiting and with other modifications, I just got to the point of setting ride height last weekend. To make a long story shorter, I ended up with a small block kit. Ain't happening.
I call the vendor and "It's been over 30 days and you installed them, but I'll sell you another set at cost"  How much $$$$ has being honest cost you?
There were some guys here that felt there BB springs were to stiff. I have a set for swap or sale. I'll probably will try our Classifieds then Ebay.
2 mistakes; Didn't check the part# "Stupid" Being honest with the vendor "Stupidest"

All you need to do is replace the springs, and honestly, I would have done that anyway with something like a 600# or heavier linear-rate, rather than the ~400something progressive-rate springs they include with the kits.

I did that...started out with the small block version QA1 springs.
Theory was in my thinking the BB was almost as light as an iron headed, cast intake SB.
Wrong! :clonk: Swapped them out within one week. Sold the SB springs.

Interesting Derek...
Who else offers this style spring? Full diameter at the top to fit the frame's upper spring seat but tapered down to fit around the shock.

Only QA1 sells the tapered springs. They do have one set even stiffer than the BBC springs. If you want stiffer springs yet, you can change to constant diameter springs by buying lower spring supports from SC&C which replace the lower spring supports provided by QA1. SC&C can also sell you almost any stiffness of constant diameter spring you may want.

The new lower spring supports cost about $35 a pair and I'd venture a guess the springs are about the same cost as buying a different set of springs only from QA1.

Interesting this topic came up, I have the GW system along wiith the coil overs installed and after the install the car sat higher than before when I had the stock a-arms in and the Hotchkis springs (which I loved the ride height bTW) I called QA1 and asked them and I gave them the part # and description of what the spring looked like and they said they never produced that speing in that color it had a weird part number on G1055000 and they said that is not our spring I said that is how I bought it needless to say to make a long story short I had to special order the a set of 9" 600lb springs from summit so we will see how this works out I don't think I will keep this setup on the car so I to will probaly be selling my setup and going with an air ride setup.

Just in case I confused any one. I was referring to just the springs.
I'm still very surprised these springs would even hold up the car. I have aluminum heads and intake, headers, a very light lift off glass hood, some miscellaneous brackets and braces removed, no brake booster, no AC. I've been running TRW small block springs for 16 years.
