I am restoring my 65 El Camino and I noticed (after I rechromed the bed trim) that I am missing one of the square/rectangular clips that goes on the side cab molding. Does anyone know where I can find one or do I have to try and fabricated one? Is there another alternative to secure the side cab molding? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Marvbon,
If you are referring to the clips that retain the long bedside moulding that runs on the top of the quarter panel AND if they are the same as '67, email me. I believe I have a few extras...if I can find them you're welcome to them. I could email photos...

BTW, Welcome to the greatest web site there is! The knowledge here is overwhelming. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Marvbon " After I rechromed the Cab Molding".
Held on by speed nuts and One each side push in Jawed clips. Is this what your talking about? The jawed clips. They Some times stay on the cab molding stud when you remove it.

Wayne, I believe you are correct. On the side cab molding there are two studs. The upper is secured with a thread cutting bolt and the bottom has that rectangular clip that I was referring to. I have pics of the clip that I can send to you so that you can see what I am talking about. Bill, this is the molding that surrounds the rear glass and is the piece that goes up the side of the glass. I'm not sure what is on the '67.

Those are clips hard to find, but a VERY important part!
If you know of an Elcamino being parted out they'll probably still be there and may get them for next to nothing http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif
