: What year pickup....
1ch9ev7el2le May 23rd, 06, 12:30 PM Do you guys love. I'm just sitting here at work and day dreaming of next project. I'm not even 1/4 of the way done with the velle, but i've always LOVED the look of the '50 or '51 Chevy. I'm not too familiar with the years and body styles, but pretty much anything pre '60's would be a helluva hot rod to me.

Check this truck out on ebay, something like that i would love.
What about you guys? Any truck lovers out there?
Rich-L79 May 23rd, 06, 1:13 PM I really like the 67-72 Chevy pickups. Classic lines, well designed and solid.
elcamino72 May 23rd, 06, 1:18 PM Here's my '59 complete with chrome reverse smoothies and 402cu big block!!!

1ch9ev7el2le May 23rd, 06, 1:34 PM That '53 is gorgeous! I would love that with a little more rim, red paint and tan interior.
Derek69SS May 23rd, 06, 1:50 PM I like the '58-59 Chevy trucks the best
TMAC396 May 23rd, 06, 2:47 PM Bryan, that's a beautiful '59. Hopefully mine will look like that one day. Right now it's dull black with a 283/TH350 and Cragars. I've always been partial to these trucks as well as the "64-66 models.
Dan72 May 23rd, 06, 4:11 PM I like '55 - '56, myself. My dad has a '58, going to be converted to a '57 front end. They were my "car I was gonna own" when I was a little kid. By brother wanted a '57 Chev (car) and I wanted a '55 or '56 truck.
ed3196499 May 23rd, 06, 4:25 PM I am partial to the 84-87 full size 4x4, I think the front clip is just mean looking. But for a street rod truck I have dreams of building a 53 chevy flat black w/ a big block. Hopefully I will get one at my next duty station.
Heres my Dually
There isn't a year of Chevy trucks I don't like. My favorites would be:
1937, 1956, 1965, 1968, 1983, 1991 (Suburban), and 1996-1999. If they go with the 2007 Tahoe/Suburban grille in the pickups for 2007, 2008, I'll like them too. :)
Currently owned:

I also have a 49 in the yard that has been in the family since the 50's Not enough there to restore but it makes a great yard ornament  :D
saturnstyl May 23rd, 06, 6:01 PM 99-02
1ch9ev7el2le May 23rd, 06, 6:59 PM 99-02
I've had three of those. Great trucks
blu66velle May 23rd, 06, 7:16 PM i ve had my 55 since i was 16 (1990) and i still love it . hopefully it will be back on the road by the end of summer , this time its gonna be my "beater" , camaro subframe , ford 9" , 350 , 3 twos , 4 speed , flat black paint and red interior ! , but for the money you cant beat 60-66 chevy trucks they are going to go up in value in the next few years imho
brian
66 malibu
55 chevy truck
Chris R May 24th, 06, 3:38 AM I like the tri-five 55-57 models. But the 68-72 are pretty nice. Actually. I think Chevrolet has done a nice job on every body style they have came out with.
dyno jonn May 24th, 06, 8:56 AM 55-56-57 straight axle, light as a feather, faster than stink!!
with crate engine power...... :D
Nolowrider May 24th, 06, 9:05 AM I am partial to 73-79 Chevy's. My 74 steppie below.

erikbuzz May 24th, 06, 1:58 PM 1967 it's my daily driver. Dropped 5 in the back and 2 up front. Big tires and a small block. Great truck. Love the lines.
Blown 70 May 24th, 06, 2:54 PM My favorites would have to be in this order 1965 , 1972 , 1955 , 1953
Alan May 24th, 06, 5:12 PM '63-'66 body style is my favorite. I'd love to restore one for daily driving and sell my new GMC Sierra. Put a fuel-injected small block in it and an overdrive tranny. Getting more expensive to find a solid one. I've seen some junk out there for nearly $10k asking price.
2k3Chevelle468 May 24th, 06, 8:48 PM 1967 - 72 chevy/GMC. I've owned two of them. By far my favorite!
mcmlxix May 24th, 06, 9:43 PM 67-72 .... my favorite .... here's mine .. or check out my cardomain site in my signature . . .

hbcruiser May 24th, 06, 9:45 PM My 1934 Ford pick up that I built ground up. My close friend now owns it.
Not a daily driver (but could be) but a real blast at the car shows.Still my favorite truck
hbcruiser May 24th, 06, 9:47 PM another pic

Cameano May 24th, 06, 10:51 PM Nice truck, Rich. I'm partial to the 67-72's, had a '71 stepside for a few years. Was a rusty beater work truck, went from l6/3 on the tree to a 305/saggy 4-speed to a 331/ST-10, to stripped/crushed. :( Had manual disc/drum brakes, manual steering (w/275-60's on front), 13" Grant steering wheel. Nobody ever asked to borrow it, after they watched me drive it. :D But I pulled a trailer with it half the time I drove to work with it, and could park that thing better than most people can park their cars. ;)
1ch9ev7el2le May 25th, 06, 12:41 AM Thats a helluva truck you built there hbcruiser! Do you ever take that out anymore? I'd love to see that in person. I live by South Coast, so i'm not too far. Let me know whenever you plan on taking out to a show or something.
Good to see there's lots of truck lovers on here also. Keep the pics coming!
Jim Mac May 25th, 06, 9:37 AM 57 has got to be my favorite. I like the opening in the grille. Jim
allengator May 25th, 06, 9:43 AM I love the 68-72 the most... but I also like the 73-87s...
I have my dad's old 1980 SWB that will be my next project, not a spec of rust anywhere!!
