Hello everyone,
im new to the supercharger/blower ...just bought a 6-71 with two 4 holleys and would like to know what would be the best way to build my motor to run good not to dump a lot of money but not to go cheap were i go to pass a car and drop the bottom end..this car will only be used for the weekends no racing..but want it to respond right...ill i know so far is a cam with 112-114 duration..and 8-1 comp..do i need all forged? crank, rods, exc.? do you recommend that i redo heads with stainless parts for heat?..Thanks Chris

not sure what you have now for a motor, but if starting from scratch, i would build a 383, all forged rotating assmb., maybe 195 heads if street use, comp. around 9.1 would be ok, maybe run 10% under on drive ratio
main thing is GOOD pistons, and forged crank, as the crank snout is holding a balancer and huge pulley(also only tighten the belt after warm up, as it will tighten up from cold)
they make a couple 671's, a thick case(en) and thinner case(if orig rebuilds)
if money allows, maybe a hyd roller, blowers like the extra lift(one of the best blower cams i used was a perf rpm hyd roller)
also important is press fit between balancer and crank snout, not to loose, not to tight(i also have the machine shop ck it)
i also like to add an extra key way 180 deg from orig one
i also like to use studs on the mains, ck alighn bore
i hope you get the pic-lol
these are just my opinions, your results may vary
