What are you guys running for double adjustable shocks? What do you like or not like about them?

For the money, the QA1 double adjustable Stocker Stars are a real nice shock. Very nice tuning range IMO. IIRC, I paid about $240 each. The chassis shop I got mine from highly recommended the QA1's as they felt they had excellent valving for a good price.

For unlimited budget the Afco's are a popular choice. I can't remember exact pricing, but I believe the Afco's were in the $350-370? range a piece back when I was looking. I know Brian (Motor Martyr) put the Afco's on his, so maybe he can comment on pricing, etc.

A got an excellent price on the Afcos through a local circle track shop, they saved me close to $60 a shock.

they adjust their valving in a completely linear range, both compression and rebound are truely independant, something that isnt the case on a majority of other shocks on the market.
the valving on Afcos is truely amazing, they offer an extremely wide range of adjustability.

I compaired them to Penske, Strange, QA1 and Varishocks when shopping. Penske are better, however not to a noticable effect on a 9, 10, or 11 second car, and in my opinion it wasnt worth spending twice as much on the penskes.

QA1 says their double adjustable shocks are independently adjustable for compression and extension.

Where is everyone getting their double adjustable QA1 shocks? I'm looking for part number DTC1661P.

Jeg's doesn't show to carry them and Summit has them listed at $277 each. Anyone gotten better deals out there?

Thanks,

Rears are Koni double adjustable coilovers...fronts are QA1 single adjustable coilovers.
I like the flexability of de-tuning them for street use...rides like a Caddie.

Jason, the Stange DA's (rear) have worked great on my car. Can't recall exactly how much I paid though. I'll find the receipt later and let you know. The fronts are single adj and are about an inch too short for the TRZ arms. I've called around and the shock length is correct for a 67 with factory mounting location. 434Elco has run into the same problem and has found a shock for a 97 Ford truck that is supposed to work. I'll probably give that a try next.

I used Qa1 and dual konis.

There is worth paying the extra money!

Autofab racecars sells them cheap. 320 dollars. Summit sells for 400!

The single adjustables are working on my car Jason, worked last year with the 30x9 Hoosiers. I couldnt get them to work with the bias/soft sidewall slicks, wouldnt go soft enough, car was smashing the slicks to the track. They're working again when I went back to Hoosier radial slicks. I have them set at 6 clicks, which makes the rear pretty stiff, 12 clicks is logwagon stiff. I need to go back to full stiff and see how they do. I guess if you're gonna spend that kind of money on shocks, may as well go with double adjustables.
