What would cause a fuel gage in a 70 chevelle SS to bounce around erratically? The sending unit checked out ok with an ohm meter when I changed the tank but jumps like crazy going down the road.

How quickly does the needle move? If the needle moves very quickly, the gauge will need to be serviced or replaced. If the needle moves slowly, most likely a connection or ground problem.

I checked the ground and it is good...I thought it may be the gage I will concentrate on that.
