Hello to all....I have a 66 Malibu / SS clone that has disc brakes installed on the front, I presume a conversion kit by prior owner. The problem is "the rear brakes are too good" says the inspection guy. He's right the rear locks up if you put the brakes on hard. I am too old to remember what proportioning vavles do, but did the guy not install one? Where's it go and look like? Do I just buy " a proportioning valve" or do I need info? Thanks jeff

A proportioning valve will fix the problem. First look to see if one is already installed and if there is one just turn the valve down to cut the pressure to the rear. It should be near the master cylinder in the line going to the rear brakes. They are fairly simple to install if there is not one on the car.
