ART T,

Have you called the people at Intrax for info on their springs?

I just purchased a set of Hotchkis rear springs for my '65 but I think they're too soft for my liking -- I was also curious about the Intrax springs, but if I can't find anything about them, then I'll go with Coil Spring Specialties, 150#/in.

Ricardo, do you know what the spring rate is on a stock spring?

I was considering the Intrax as they advertise more drop than Eibach or Hotchkis, but I went and cut 1 1/4 coil off my front springs and now the front sits just where I want it. Now to find rears that will drop about an inch.
If you decide on the Intrax, Summit has them for $200 and free shipping.

Art - sorry, I don't know exactly what the stock spring rate is. The number that Hotchkis uses is 135#/in for their p/n:1900R rear springs (this is the p/n I just installed on my car) so it's fair to assume that the stock spring rate is less than that.

To be honest, I thought the Hotchkis springs weren't as stiff as I would have liked but that was without driving the car. I just drove it to work and it actually feels pretty good on the highway but it still leans some on the turns. However, since I plan to install 17" wheels at some point, perhaps it'd be good if I left these set of rear springs for now until after I install the 17" -- in case the car feels too stiff.

You may want to read the reviews found below regarding Intrax springs before making your purchasing decision. I just found this myself while looking for info on their products:

Those reviews seem to be about 50/50. I went ahead and ordered them from Summit this morning, they were in stock in Georgia.

Did you get those springs installed yet?

Yes, I did. Unfortunately the body won't be back on the frame for a while. The fronts are definately shorter, I only had to compress them a few inches.

Any feedback on them Sprangs yet?

I'm down to the skinny on picking between the 1.8" Intracs or the 2" Hotchkis.
Tempted to go with the Intracs becuase they're progressive rate, I finger that'd help out when I'm using the Elky fer hauling stuff. Kinda askeered that the ride might be too harsh w/o a load though.
Any thoughts, pipe up.

I'd like to know how these turned out... not that cutting costs ever pay off, but I know that most springs are only made by a few companies out there, and the Names on them kind of drive the price.

Any feedback on the intrax?? About four clicks away from ordering the eibachs...
