I just got a new engine harness and it came with a large hanger of some sort about 8 inches from the starter hookups, where does this mount to? I have it to the outside starter bolt but it seems really close to the exhaust pipes, where did I go wrong, and do I even need to use there hanger? The mess I had before was just tie wrapped to the other lines in the car

what year car? On a 72 it gets bolted to the transmission bolt right above the starter. Do you have an assembly manual?

64 chevelle, i did bolt it to the starter bolt closest to the pass tire, but from there it goes right by the exhaust and I worry it is too close? Will melt, etc.

I do have a shop manual but I couldnt find any mention of where the wires should go

Sorry, I have no clue for a 64. I'm sure someone on this chat will get to your question though.

It should bolt to the upper outside transmission to engine bolt, at least every Chevelle I have done has had it there.
