I have a 1970 402 with a long nose water pump, stock 7 blade fan, stock shroud and an Alumitech radiator. I am trying to determine what kind of replacement clutch to purchase for the fan.

The car also came with factory air which will be setup again someday. I was looking at these 3 flex-a-lite clutches, but not sure which would be best.

All input would be helpful.

Thanks!

I think the thermal clutches work better than the fluid type. Hevy duty or not is up to you....but I would.

I just noticed on the Flex-a-Lite site that the heavy duty thermal is recommended for large displacement air conditioned vehicles.

Are there any other brands recommended?

I'm sure an NOS GM clutch would be double the price. I wouldn't trust anything used. Maybe I should get my original rebuilt at some point...
