Or sand body filler for that matter as well? I have heard if you wait to long to buff clear it is bad as it gets to hard but I will cross that road when I get there!

Zach, if you are not sanding filler in atleast 30 mins you have done something wrong. On the other hand probably the longest time frame from appling filler to sanding would be over the weekend. Ive applied filler at 5pm friday night went home came back 8am monday, dont notice any difference.

Primer surfacer, many times try to have it cure overnight then wetsand, but now many times am just baking it and 1hr later am sanding. But that depends on my time frame or schedule The longest Ive let primer surfacer set then sanded was around 3 weeks. That was on my own project and I was waiting for the bumper to show up from chrylser. Little to NO difference IMO

As for the clear YES that is true

I have seen many people on the forums that will leave filler or primer many weeks, even months before they sand it. They think it needs that long to "shrink". They are way, way off, but it is proof that you can wait.

I have never read tech sheet or was taught in any class where you HAD to sand primer in a certain time frame. Now, that doesn't mean there isn't some time frame, but it is so unusual for someone to want to wait. The most common, I mean one of THE most common problems is the opposite! Guys want to prime the stuff a mile thick and sand it RIGHT NOW. smile.gif

Thanks guys, sometimes I get something in primmer and then let it sit a week or two before I am ready to wet sand and shoot color. With the filler I usually sand it in 20-30 min. but I sometimes quit and leave it for a day maybe two if I am lazy. I won't worry about it just wanted some other opinions. smile.gif
