Help!! I cant seem to find an intake that will fit under my stock hood. I have a 396 with world heads on it, that are ~1" taller than stock heads. Anyone else have this problem, or can point me in the right direction??

You can modify certain areas on the car. The hood can be changed-different motor mounts lowered. Measure carefully on cutting and lowering.
I highly doubt that the heads you have raise the intake up an inch. If it did, you would not be able to seal the intake to the block. The 66/67's are known for hood clearance issues, but you can run a drop base air cleaner to help with this. Do a search on 66 or 67 hood clearance, as this has been discussed quite a lot.

Performer 2.0 with 1" spacer and holley 3310 fir with a drop base 3" air cleaner, but I had to use a lock nut instead of a wing nut because the wings rubbed the hood. (Factory SS hood).

The Performer RPM air-gap will fit under the hood with the right air cleaner base! Here is a pic of my '67.
