: Summit Sport seat loose after install

Just installed a new Summit Sport bucket seat, 4 bolts nice and tight, one at each corner, even 1"x4" pieces of sheetmetal under each bolt as it comes thru the floorpan, for reinforcement from ripping the seat off the floor. Well, the seat is the adjustable slider type with the lever right under the front left side of the side. Problem is that the LEFT side bracket has openings for the lever to stop it at the desired position, but the RIGHT side bracket is smooth with no openings. Basically, it still seems to move around ALOT, even with the LEFT side bracket locked in place. Did I miss something during the install?? I am hoping to go to the track this weekend, and I am thinking I might not even get thru Tech with a loose seat!! I am 100 miles from Atlanta Dragway, and if I drive all the way up there with my 3.73 gears on I-85, I will be ****ed if I can't race!!!

Help!

I'm interested in an answer for this question also since I'm right in the middle of mounting race seats with only one locking adjustable track and the other one free to move back and forth.

I am hoping I don't have the wrong brackets!! Summit set me the universal brackets with the seat. These are the 4 "L" shaped brackets that you bolt 2 each together to form either a "C" or a "Z" configuration.

Sounds like a mod to me. Linkage to "lock" the other side hooked to a pin or bellcrank latch. If you don't adjust all the time, maybe just a single bolt on the "inside" track after you find the correct spot. Kind of weird that they would mfg something like that. But then, I'm sure they're from China.

CHINA is right!! I just noticed that the other day. AND, I called Summit's Tech line, the guy told me it was designed that way. Only one side locks, so the other side is just open to slide back and forth!!!!!!!! Does not make sense to me...........
