I here alot of good comments about the Jegs kit. What about the Summit kit??? I here they are made by the same company (IMMCO). Also who like TA and who like torque-tech. Already heard about Pypes.

From what I've heard,Summit and Jegs are the same
Also,Torque Tech and TA are the same.
I bought a pair of 3" head pipes from Pypes and they looked identical to the TT and TA pipes I've seen

Have you considered the 3" stainless kit from Magnaflow w/ the x-pipe?

If you don't need an X or H setup, then I would go w/the Jegs kit. Did a buds Buick in the 3" version and it fits better than my $$$ Pypes system.

But I do have an X pipe though.

No X or H needed. Keep the votes and comment coming. :)

This is the way to go...would of saved me enormous headaches and alot of $$$.

Chris, did you have to modify the 3" headpipes to get to your muff (in other words, did you have to put any offsets in the head pipes)?

Ok... I'll bite. Is this a special order Pypes item or something in their catalog? The closest thing I see is the DGU12 3" downpipe extensions which are 44" long.

Vince,the headpipes need no offsets.
Steve,the 3DGU12 3" downpipe extensions are what I used.
I just needed to buy 3" to 3" collectors from Summit for $20 to hook it all up.

You guys with the X pipe where does it go across your car? Under the trans or drive shaft?

Thanks for the pic.

I have my Gear Vendors haning off the back so I may not be able to run an X pipe. If I do it will go under the GV or just behind it.

How low do they hang?

My 3" kit fit like a glove! I did ZERO pipe bending to the system. Only cutting the head pipes to fit. I advise having the system installed on a lift!

Torque kits are exspensive but TOP NOTCH!

I have learned the hard way, you get what you pay for!

This was the 4th exhaust system I have installed on my Chevelle in the past 22 years, absolutly the best!

i bought the 3" summit x pipe kit but couldn't use the x-pipe.(car sits to low) i also used the flowmaster universial 3" tailpipes and there super 40 mufflers. everything fits awsome and for the most part (two bends) is manderal.

I bought the 3" kit from summit MPE-15898 and I wasn't very happy. The exhaust came out by the back tire instead of out the rear. Bought the kit from Pypes with ceramic coating a fits like a glove on my 71 Chevelle. Part of the problem with the summit kit magnaflow brand? was the X pipe. I didn't fit under my crossmember. I need to run straight pipes cause of my crossmember has been changed to fit the t56 tranny.

Chris, which 3-to-3 inch collectors did you get from Summit? The only ones I see are from Hedman with an S-bend in them. I'd think you'd need straight ones.

Rich,I don't remember the part # specifically. But they are listed on the website if you look.
They are not the Heddman S bend type..they are straight..Summit brand btw
