I'M BAAAAACK, I can't seem to figure out how the sam hell these blasted windows come out of the 66. I want/need to remove the windows and the regulators before it goes to the blasting shop. If things don't start cooperating it might go to the blasting shop that has the dynomite...LOL. Please let me know if there is printed matter or if one of you guru's can explain it.
thanks
Mike...and I mean guru's with the most respect!

There you go with the dynomite again...I'm not a guru, but I'll tell you how it went on my 67.
Pulling a rear window wasn't the easiest thing I've done to the car but after it came out, I thought "hey that wasn't too bad, why did it take me so long?" I pulled out the window felts, all the weather stripping, and the chrome weather stripping "holder" that runs along the top of the window opening to give me as much room as possible (and all of that was coming out anyway). Then I took every bolt and nut out of the inside panel. It's been a while since I did it, but I think the regulator came out and then it was just a bunch of jockeying things around until the glass finally came out. After the glass was out, the rest came out without a problem. The key thing was tipping the top front corner of the glass into the car a little while pulling it up, forward, and out. I tried for a long time to just pull it straight out but there wasn't enough room but tipping it into the car did the trick.
Don't know if that helps at all but I hope so...
Good luck!
Rick

My front window was much easier to pull since it comes straight up and out. Don't know if your 65 works the same as my 67 but I left the vent window assembly in the door and pulled everything else out. It was a lot like the rear window, pull every nut and bolt and work it around until it comes out. I pulled the vent assembly after the window was out to replace the rubber.
Good Luck...

My '67 convertible rear windows stick and cock when rolling up....I was going to try and fix (make the roll up smoother) I noticed there are several adjustment type screws.....are these controling the roll up or is the mechanism worn out??
Is there any special adjustments??

The key, for me at least, was to keep the rearmost roller from getting caught between the qtr panel and the wheelwell while at the same time, starting with the glass as far to the rear as possible. Also, to add to RickS's comments, all guides, brackets, channels, AND bump stops had to come out before the glass. It's not the easiest part to strip. Since then, I've found that a brick really speeds the job http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif
As far as adjusting them, good luck...I haven't gotten that far yet, but I distinctly remember regretting thier removal.
I'm thinking clear visqueen would be just the ticket as a replacement-save me some valuable pounds, should get my car into the 10.00's http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
