For a 69? Nothing fits like GM. I have heard from a lot of the guys that the new fenders need some coaxing to fit properly.

gmpartsdirect.com has them $310 a piece. I would bet they are better than the ausleys I bet.

I went down to my local Chevy dealer and ordered fenders for my 69.
They were a little more money but they are real GM fenders not GM restoration fender as some places avertise. (which means they were made to GM specs but we all know how close they really end up being.)
Anyway I paid a little over 800. with tax for 2 new 69 real GM fenders ( I have an account with this dealer) I think it would be a little over 1000. retail plus tax
Anyway what ever money you save you will make up in labor messing with some other fenders.
My car is a driver and I messed with the idea of saving a little money but think of the resale vaule of saying you have 2 real GM front fenders instead of a mess of shims and a possibility of a fender that looks good from 20 feet away.
No one said a daily driver can't have a nice set of front fenders plus there is always the possibilty it will be more than a daily driver someday.
Just some of the stuff I thought about before I spend the extra cash
