can anyone give me a rough estimate of hp i can expect from a 1967 327 .030 over with 2.02/1.6 valves a lunatia 292 480 lift cam and a 650 dp carb with flat top pistons

That cam's too big, imho!! (Imho, you have too low a CR. for a 292 cam is why!)...

I wouldn't go bigger than the 280/230, .480" lift hy-cam!

And I have to say that I would use a good old CC 268HE or a Crane/Cam Dynamics 272/272 Energizer!

You should be looking at like 350 hp uncorked easy, imho..

PS., I figure that your CR. is probably like 9.5 to maybe 9.75 to 1 WITH double-hump heads... (64 to 66.+ cc chamber heads here!).....

Just maybe a schosh under 10 to 1 if you used the .015" shims????

Bigger chambered heads WAY too low imho!!

I don't think you can get 400 horses with stock heads. UNLESS you make it very unstreetable. If you put some good heads on it, like AFR and had compression of at least 10 to 1 and had a healthy cam with headers and a good intake and carb, then you could have a streetable 400 horse 327.

Please consider an Isky Z-25 solid cam instead of the 292 jobber!

And if you aren't using the Fel-pro #1094 .015" thick shim headgaskets, I would install them to get a bit more CR. b/c you really need like an 11 to 1 CR. 327 motor to do what you want, imho!!

Like I said earlier, you need at least 11 to 1 CR. with a 292 cam and I'd really like 11.5!! Then it's a bi-ch feeding it nowadays!!

And I know what a hopped up 375hp/327 FI motor runs like with the Isky Z-30!! With my long gone Crippled Buddy's dumps open, it was still pulling at 7200 rpm with a 4-speed and 3.08's one night late for about 8 miles!

can you say 160 to 170 mph!!

Isky!

http://www.iskycams.com/

Either order it direct from Isky or see if Summit, Jegs, Competition Products and such will get you one.
