hey everyone!
ive had my chevelle for going on seven years now, and i hate to say it but ive neglected it for quite a long time now. it still runs great, it just need some body work. the left quarter panel need some serious work, it has a huge dent right behind the drivers door and some rust around the window, where is the best place to pick up a new quarter at? and also does anyone know of any good shops in the east bay area that are pretty affordable and good? i love my car so much, but life and more important things get in the way and i just put her on the backburner. i guess im pretty fortunate to of been able to hang onto her...
thanks in advance

My experince with your average body shop is they only want to do insurance work, the kind of stuff they can fly through the shop in a week or so and get an insurance check for. Look around your area Concord, Walnut Creek, Danville, Dublin their is alot of hot rodders and muscle car people around the east bay ask them about shops that do specialty body work and painting. Could get a little pricey and take some time but it would be better that the average body shop. Their is a guy in American Canyon but he's not cheap, but does good work

thanks,
im going to take my chevelle to a place called vorhagens in my town brentwood, ive had two of my cars done their (insurance work) they do beautiful work and they always have hotrods there, they are the only shop in the area i know that does mostly hotrods. also ive called alot of resto places and they highly recoment them so we will see. the only thing im trying to figure out is if i should get a whole nos panel or just a skin and the cost of labor of both??? i know nos panels are around $500 so thats a extra $350 of labor i can use if i go with a skin that goes to the beltline. whats your opinion.

The price you save on the cost of buying a "skin" will be eating up by the extra labor time needed to install them.
Go with full quarters, in the end you will save money and end up with a superior repair...Eric

heres my pix, the guy at the body shop said the left panel can be worked out and the right one might have to be replaced to he said i should start stripping it down, and then take it to get bead blasted, then go from there. i do want to strip the car down and build it up right so i think this is the best way to go, any opinions??? http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=showMyPhoto&albumID=185727219&photoID=185727545&security=iWPaLz
