I have a '71 Chevelle with a 350 V-8 not original to the car. Not sure but I think the car originally had a 402 when built. The fan shroud on the car does not allow the fan to enter into the "tunnel" , lacks about two inches from actually being in the "tunnel". I have the chance to purchase an original sbc two piece shroud ($40) GM # 3986905 which according to my books says it is the original application shroud. My question is : I have a 4 core radiator in the Chevelle which was there when I bought it with a chromed plate that bolts to the top of the core support. Will the two piece shroud bolt right in with the 4 core in place? Can't check the fit personally as the shroud is in a parts car about 80 miles from me. Sorry for the long post but don't want to buy the shroud if it will not fit. Hoping someone can tell me the low down befoe I purchase it. Thanks for any input and info.
