My Chevelle windshield does not have an antenna in it. Anyone else have this problem? How could I hook up an antenna? I have the dash out of the car so it's a good time to figure something out.
Thanks.

I just put one in my 69 a couple weeks ago. I have an original AM Delco and a separate FM converter. I went to auto parts and picked up a regular non retracting antenna for $12.00. I zip tied it up under the dashboard and tried to keep it away from as much under there as possible. I have an original retracting antenna for it,but just couldn't bring myself to cut a hole in my quarterpanel as I didn't have any holes previously for one. I like the smooth look without the exterior mount antenna. It doesn't pick up Am very well but does just fine on FM.

My buddy did the same thing in his 55 Chevy But his is in the trunk under the package tray. And he got an antenna amplifier from Radio Shack, it plugs right in. No sweat. And it works great. I'am putting the Org. windshield w/antenna back in my Chevelle. But it has a small chip in it. The glass man said he can fix the chip (injects acrylic resin) and i won't know it was there, And it won't spread. he said the org. glass is thicker than any replacement glass on the market today. I guess i'll give it a try. Has anybody else had this done??????

I took the dash pad off and zip tied one of those cheap universal antenna's on top of the dash. With the pad back on no one could tell and it worked great until I finally bought a new windshield.

Reception was trerrible when driving. I installed my electric antenna on the passenger side of the trunk. Easy to drill out and install. No break offs by jerk offs. Radio thiefs will break off a standard antenna and use it to open your doors. Antenna works great-out of sight-out of mind.
