need to know the correct color for the underside of the hood on 66 chevelle,
also the front grill to bumper panel, mine looks to have been silver on top, and color of car below chrome strip.

You are correct, grille filler panel to bumper was two tone. color of car below moulding (gloss), silver (argent) above moulding. The argent had about the same gloss as the rallye wheels. Probably about 60%. Under side of hood was black primer. They were thrifty and did not paint. The most common description of gloss level of underside of hood would be "satin" or "low gloss". It was not a true flat black just a little more shiny. The black that was used didn't seem to have any different gloss than a primed outer sheelmetal part. Core support, inner fender skirts, headlamp mountings, grille supports and bumper brackets ALL appeared to be primed in same manner. You may also want to check in the resto area as they have taken many detail areas to a fine art. Karl

Search for underhood gloss in restoration corner. Or Hood underside color - or under hood color. Good luck Karl
