I have a 67 chevelle. I just bought engine block ground cables. the package came with 3 cables and instructions. it calls for 1 cable to be place at the passenger side front tire from frame to body. the other 2 from the valve covers to the firewall.
is there any better location then the valve cover to firewall

If the heads are later models, you could use the acc holes on the heads. The hole sizes might be diff though.

The engine ground kit was/is part of radio equipment options. They were/are installed to reduce radio static. I believe it's the valve covers that were being grounded by the two on top of the engine. Factory spark plug wires were routed across the valve covers.
