Does anyone know if my 73 Z28 stripes were originally painted on or were they vinyl decals? Currently they are painted but the car was repainted in the 80's. My friend and I have a bet (1 beer) that I say the stripes were painted and he thinks they were originally vinyl decals.
Second trivia question: Did the 74 GTO (Ventura style) come with a 455 or only the 350 ? (it's for another beer with my friend) "I think" the 455 was available.
Thanks for any help.

Hope this helps but you lose a beer ,no idea about the stripes: For 1974, the GTO was based on the Pontiac Ventura, not the LeMans. A hatchback and coupe were available. The classic "shaker hood" air scoop was part of all 1974 GTOs. Only one engine, the 350 cubic inch V8, was offered.
1974 was the last year the GTO was available. Sales had been on a steep decline and could be traced to the decline of GTO performance. Changing times and the introduction of safety and pollution requirements had taken their toll.

Lee,
They were painted on from the factory. My brother bought a 73 Z28 new back in 73 and I had it until last year. The stripes were definitely painted on.
