I'm doing a stealth MSD box installation.

I've had an original style points/window distributor modified with a magnetic signaling device. The Box is installed above the glove box under the dash pad and I'm splicing all of the connections from the MSD box, into the original wires of the harness.

The only visable clue is that the distributor has a (2) wire connector that isn't stock coming from it. I can hide this pretty well and want to mock up the original stock appearing distributor wire.

Can somebody tell me approximate size, color, connector type and routing of the correct original distributor wire on a 1970 454?

Thanks

I have 70 with a Petronix Ign. If you use the stock wiring. You will get 12v on crank 8V on run. I used the resistance wire, Its like a built in rev-limiter with 8v it breaks up about 3100. Look behind the dist. You may have a rubber body plug, If you have this, on my other 70 my driver I sniped the end of the plug and ran to the dist. Its about 2" from dist. With your box inside it could be a way to help hide some wiring. My 2 cents. Bob ACES 2825

I have all the wiring hidden and figured out, what I'm trying to find out it what wires were used on a bone stock set-up on a stock distributor, what color wire, what connector, and how was it routed.

Example, 20 ga. white from dist. spade lug, to positive coil.

Whatever the correct answer is, I need run a bogus wire to match the stock set-up to help hide my incorrect dist. wires.

I believe all the GM products ran a black 16 or 20ga wire from the points in the distributor to the - side of the coil. The + side of the coil gets the resistor wire and the resistor bypass wire from the starter hooked to it.

Got it, so a bone stock (-) side of coil would have the black distributor wire and the tach wire.

I would also assume spade lug as that's what the other wires to coil from the stock repro harness have.

I'll run a dummy wire from negative to the distributor and have it then.
