Need help locating correct paint for '71 SS wheels. Sent wheels out to a refinisher and they are having trouble matching the finish. The first cut came back all silver.

Do a search in the wheel and tire forum. The paint codes have been posted there several times.

According to my restoration guide the wheels should be dark gray. Ditzler DQE-32961, Rinshed Mason 71B16, Dupont 9901L. This information comes from the Chevelle SS Restoration guide by Paul Herd.

Eastwood makes an aerosol dark charcoal rally wheel paint that Works very well.

Don't trust everything you read in Paul Herd's book. There are a lot of mistakes in that book.
