hello- i was referred here from the nastyz28 board. saturday i'm going to look at a 2 bolt 454 block. the guy told me he has some merlin 320 rectangular port heads he'll sell me also. can i build an engine with the 454 block and these heads? or are they too big? he had them on his 540 and went with the 345 cc heads.i know this is king of open ended but i'm new to big blocks and need some advice before i buy them.

well you could definately build a motor with those. what are you going to use the motor for? you gonna race it or is it going in a daily driver?

Really depends on two things...
How hot of a 454 are you planning? Strip, street, or combo of both?
Are the Merlins priced right?
