Dear Guys, as I know nothing about body work, I have a very basic question. I got a ding or scrape ( it's indented up to 1/2 inch in some places ) on my driver's side fender between the bumper and the wheel well opening. ( I hit a concrete post backing up ). To tap this dent out, do I try to work with the fender in place, or do I buy a sand bag kind of thing and special hammer and take the fender off and do it on a bench? I am willing to do it the "right way" and then pay the painters to make it match. I just don't know what the right way is. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. R. B.
