1970 SS 396 the trim tag states "TR 753", same # on build sheet from car. Trim 753 does not exist. Must be a misprint on buildsheet (has it listed as 753 in two places on build sheet), which means they put it on the cowl tag from the build sheet. The car has black bucket seats 756. Bucket seats are not listed as an option on the buildsheet but the number 755 for bench seats is not listed either. I think it was a black bench seat car (755) but the factory made a misprint on the buildsheet and cowl tag 755 vs. 753. Most strato bucket seats are listed as an option A51. It must be a bench car with a typo.
Does any one have thoughts please?

My book says 753 is for "black cloth"

Yes, you are correct - 753 is black cloth, which means it could have only been a bench seat car and no consol. Right?

Oh I thought that you said 753 didn't exist.
I ASSUME it means black cloth bench seat but my book doesn't say, all it says is "black cloth".
{edit}
you did say "Trim 753 does not exist"
:confused:

My bad....my other book listed 753. It has to be a bench in cloth becuase I have never seen a bucket in cloth....have you? If it was a bucket, it would also be listed as an option on the buildsheet. A51.

I'm sure you're right, I don't think any cloth bucket seats ever existed.

My Chevrolet P&A book lists it as Black River Cloth/Coated Fabric - like so...

...and yes, no console on any bench seat car.
