Im gonna be putting new skins on my doors next week and have a few quesitons. I plan to glue the skins on but I stopped by my local parts place and they want 48.00 for the application gun and another 28-38
for the adhesive. Is there another product that has the gun built in? Its not that Im cheap (yes it is) but I hate to drop 50.00 for a gun that will be used one time. The glue was made by 3M with a 90 minute working time. That should be ok, right?

It will work great. Ask if you can rent the gun. My local paint store would do that. If not let me know I could send you mine on loan.

I never thought about the renting. I'll give that a try on Monday. Are all the guns the same? I appreciate the offer to loan me yours. I would hate to risk the shipping and all. If worse comes to worse Ill buy it. You never know, I may have another project next year :D I would love to have a 71 C10 with a big block.....

The guns are not the same. You need to get the one that will work with whatever product you use. All the big manufactures make good panel bond adhesive. I have used Nortons and 3M. Both are good.

Fusor makes a good product and uses the same gun for some their seam sealers At one time they ran a promo that if you bought three adhesive or sealer kits the gun was included free. Just an idea. If you have a bodyshop nearby maybe they'd borrow a gun to you for use over a weekend? Bob
