Well, I finally finished painting the underneath of my '70 Chevelle. Now I am ready to install the gas tank, rear upper and lower control arms, rear end, shocks, coil springs and sway bar. I have the car up on jackstands with the rear end in place. I installed the coil springs, shocks, and both the upper and lower control arms. The nuts are still loose on the control arms. My question is can I torque the nuts to both the upper and lower control arms at this time with the car still up on jackstands or should I lower the car off the jack stands, put air in the air shocks and then tighten the upper and lower control arms. The control arms are stock upper and boxed lowers with rubber bushings.

The weight of the car needs to be on the suspension before tightening those bolts.Put in on the ground or if you have ramps-a little more clearance for whenching and tighten.

Good luck
