I just got ready to set my body back down on my frame (70 SS Conv.)and I noticed that there are 3 different sets of bushings that I received from Ground Up. Where do the four smaller bushings go, and where do the bushings with no holes in the bottom go??? Please help fellas, I dont wanna proceed any further till I know for sure that Im doing this correctly. I know that someone on here has "been there done that". I have 8 dudes here waiting for your answer.. hehehe Thanx in advance for your time fellas!

I purchased mine from Early-Birds in Downsview (Toronto) They came in a box with 7 plastic bags and were numbered, The hardware also was numbered for the corresponding bushing. The bushings with no bolt holes go on the frame at the front bend closest to the engine. 2 more go on the raised portion at the back wheels near the shock mount. The 2 smaller Dia. ones go at the back end of the frame. My car is a 69 Malibu convertible and I imagine they are similar.
Hope this helps

Hey Robert, could you send that diagrahm again to Payador@insight.rr.com my junk mail filter must have discarded it on the other one... Amazing all the junk mail I get, and of course the mail I really need I dont get! Thanks for your time Robert. Your Velle is awesome! Very similar to mine. I hope mine looks as good as yours when Im finished, Ill make sure to post some pics. Johnny, I have 4 of the smaller diameter bushings, do these all go in the back?

Johnny_pugh, are you sure you got the right bushings for a convertible?
I have always heard that the no-hole bushings were only for hard tops (all years). I can't confirm all years did this, but I know the 64-67s used bolts through all the bushings on convertibles.
As for where the no-hole bushings go on hard tops, I am pretty sure some go on the front, inside location, not sure where else.
The smaller ones might be core support or the ones that go under the doors (they are not as tall as the others and have smaller diameter "step"). I think the core supports have larger holes than the rest, if I remember correctly.

You are correct, there are 4 smaller bushings, I did not open the bag containing the rad support bushinge because I am nowhere near that stage yet.
I do beleive I have the correct bushings for the 69 Malibu convert.
The bushings with no holes (and no steel washer on top) go in the inboard holes of the frame closest to the engine and on the highest part of the frame near the rear shock mounts. The2 smaller bushings go at the rear corners.

Johnny is 100% correct about the locations, I just did my 69 convertible. My kit had a diagram which showed each location and the P/N for it, although I can't remember where it was from.

OK,my assembly manual pointed it out the same way johnny. I had 4 smaller bushings and the ones with no holes in the bottom. I put those near the engine and the left and right rear, and the manual showed to put the other 2 on the crossmember behind the seat at near the wheelwells. Im gonna try to post this pic I took of my progess. [URL=http://community.webshots.com/photo/8953405/85988210NwPqUK]454 http://community.webshots.com/photo/8953405/85988120lRMbsc
