You take a hack saw blade and cut the rubber up. Then maybe some penetrating spray for rusted stuff call PBBlaster would be better than WD-40.

Here's what I did with mine. Inside the car ,I drilled a 3/16 hole directly above each mount bolt.I sprayed PB blaster on the bolt threads every day for a week before I attempted to break the bolts loose.Every one of my bolts came out with no problem, with the exception of the two front ones by the firewall. You can get a 1" open wrench on the square nut on those. To close up the holes, I used small flat nylon hole plugs I found at Loew's in the hardware aisle. You could also weld them closed if you want, but the plugs are hardly visible after I painted floorpans.Good luck< Don

Definitely get the PB Blaster. It foams up a bit...making it cling and penetrate more that WD-40. Works MUCH better than the other stuff..WD,Liquid Wrench, etc.

I didn't drill or cut the rubber on my old bushings but I did get the "straw" thing way in there and sprayed them once a day for several days before I even attempted to wrench them.

Maybe I was lucky, but they came out fine.

Good Luck!
