If the car is mostly for strip duty, 3.73 / 4.10, or 3.42 / 3.55 if you want a nice comprimise between strip and street cruising.

Thanx for the infos. No freeways here in our island. 4.10 sounds too good.

Hello,

I have basically the same set up in my 72 chevelle, though a tad more motor, I run 13.780 at 102 for the 1/4 @ an altitude of 4000 + feet with about 60' of wheel spin. Pulls HARD in 1st and 2nd and shifted into 3rd just before the traps. Ran through the traps in 2nd and ran .377 tenths slower with trap speed of 100. Mybe a little fine tuning to find the demon tweak and you'll
have better results. Also, either put the hood back on or get a glass one cause the air flow into the carb is way too turbulent for it to work right.

Wow. 13.78sec. That is definitely a nice time.

I too smoked out about the same length, would go almost all the way to the quarter on 2nd gear, hit 3rd right at or before the goal. Sounds like a nice advise on the hood. Maybe I will try opening the tail gate.

I actually shipped the car to the island of Guam, which is our brother island, about 250miles away, I just forgot to take my hood with me.. Just have to go with it.

I have 4 more bracket and grudge racing events to go before I ship it back to my island. Hope I could hit that high 13 number. Any tips? (lol)
