Just wondering where and what is the best in terms of long lasting, effectivness and ofcoarse cost. I have a fresh air hood for painting but don't like to drag it out for sanding, I have been using a mask that has a heppa filter but from a co. called survivair but it is trashed and is letting dust through. I bought replacement cartriges that have heppa and the N-100 pink welding type filters but they are really expensive and may save them for welding only if I can find something better to sand with. ;)

I use 3M brand masks, both for sanding and welding, one mask for each task thou.

I wear 3M 07183 has screw off filters. I use P100 filters for BOTH welding and sanding, as P100 is APPROVED for both.

If you want just a filter for sanding and NOT welding then use P95 filters. I do believe the P95 filters are a tad cheaper then P100.

My mask cost around 17 bucks, I get my filters at a discount :D , I buy in bulk. They end up costing less then a buck.
