I'm working to re-paint my daughters junior dragster and need some input.

The panels are aluminum, I've stripped all of the panels down to aluminum.

need input on the following..

1)brand and type of primer to shoot against the aluminum ( do I need this ?)

2)brand and type of filler to use for a couple of areas that need repair

3) brand and type of blocking primer to use

4) Do I need to seal the blocking primer with anything before shooting the paint ?

5) What brand and type of paint would you reccommend ?

thanks in advance..

It's been forever since I've done any aluminum work, but I think you start with a Zinc Chromate primer. (kinda Green or Yellow) and go from there. Any GOOD paint supplier should have all the info on this. All your General Aviation planes use a very durable system.

Maybe check with your local Land Rover dealer - those things are still aluminum aren't they? If anything they might point you toward a shop that could give you some advise. Or, do as said and check the local GA airport, and see what those guys do. If you tell 'em your working on a Jr., they'll get geared up.
